Carkeek and Sunshine

IMG_3635

We continued our weekend hiking adventures by exploring Carkeek Park on Saturday. We had gorgeous Seattle weather, and enjoyed incredible views of the Sound and the
Olympic Mountains while hiking for about 3 miles or so. The hikes itself are pretty easy, not much in terms of elevation gain. Luckily the park wasn’t ridiculously crowded for a sunny Saturday, but it’s definitely not a place to “get away from the world.”

We grabbed a trail map at the start, and parked in the upper parking lot by the beach. We mostly ended up just exploring the wide variety of trails in the park, and taking in the awesome views. The trail conditions were great. Unfortunately we didn’t see any salmon, but the creeks and streams were definitely flowing!
