I brought out my denim pencil skirt for work on Tuesday. Denim skirts are great for casual offices, because you can combine the casual (denim!) with put-together office attire (pencil skirt and heels!). If you’re on the shorter side (like me!), the key for pencil skirts is to make sure that they fit just above the knee (will help elongate your legs), and are fitted but you’re still able to move and breathe.
The skirt is a few years old from Banana Republic, and I paired it with a black skinny belt, James Perse top, and nude heels.
Skirt – Banana Republic (similar), Belt – Limited (here in grey, white, and gold), Top – James Perse from Nordstrom Rack, Heels – Shoemint
It’s the first day of spring! Unfortunately our weather here has been cold and rainy, unlike the rest of the states apparently.
Luckily it’s Marion’s link up and Trend of the Month Challenge: Neon, so I kicked in my spring spirit with a hot pink blazer. I paired it with a striped top, statement necklace, boyfriend jeans, and nude heels. One bright piece is a great way to make an outfit and stay on trend without overpowering an office look.
Blazer – Nordstrom BP (here) , Striped Shirt – Nordstrom (here), Jeans – Rich&Skinny from Nordstrom, Pumps – Rosemary from Shoemint (waiting list here)
Necklace (gift from my sister) close-up:
Have you tried the neon trend? Are you in full-on spring mode yet, or is winter still hanging on?
